WELCOME TO THE MESS ROOM

We are an award winning, independent, music loving bar and events space, serving an ever-changing line up of craft beer, real ale, spirits and cocktails. A touch of bohemia, music and arts is found at The Mess Room, located in a beautiful Grade II listed building in the canal quarter of Skipton.

We have two bars, which are great relaxed spaces to drink and hangout, and our larger space, affectionately known as the 'Big Mess' is also used for a variety of gigs and events throughout the year. We also have a great outside walled beer garden, which is mainly covered and heated, and used hosts acoustic music gigs in the summer months.
We have a wide range of music and events programmed, many of which sell out, fast! Artists to have played the Mess Room include grammy award winning guitar legend Albert Lee, Chris Helme (Seahorses), Mark Morris (Bluetones), Micky P Kerr (BGT), Kiki Deville (The Voice), Remi Harris and loads more. Be sure to take a look at our events tab above to see what we have going on. We host a variety of ticketed events, alongside our regular free Sunday live music sessions, open mic, monthly quiz and cheese 'n' vinyl.

Table bookings are available, and recommended for larger groups, although not essential!
